The Epic of Human Evolution:

Johannes V. Jensen

4,932 words

Johannes V. Jensen cannot be called a forgotten writer — he won the Nobel Prize in Literature for 1944 and is still remembered in his native Denmark — yet his name will probably be unfamiliar to most of my readers. He was born in 1873, the second of eleven children of a veterinary surgeon in the village of Farsø in Northern Jutland. To help finance his medical studies at the University of Copenhagen, he began writing “cliffhanger” newspaper serials. After three years, he switched to full-time writing and journalism.  Read more …

One can take the test at 16personalities.com and receive a four-letter acronym which represents parts of one’s personality.  For example, many Counter-Currents readers are reputed to have INTJ personalities, which means they possess Introverted, Intuitive, Thinking, and Judging characteristics. The opposite of INTJ is ENFP, or Extroverted, Feeling, and Perceiving. These two are not the only possible types. In 2009, Ann Coulter gave a wonderfully civil interview to the New York Times, which was predictably entitled “And Now, a Moment of Civil Discourse With Ann Coulter.” The topic was her upcoming debate with liberal comedian and talk show host Bill Maher. She did not speak with her reporter, and instead answered his questions IN ALL CAPS in an email. Like a good Elvis Costello song, the tone of the interview could not have been more pleasant . . . Screening Pedophilia:
Egon Schiele: Tod und Mädchen

1,846 words

Austrian arthouse film Egon Schiele: Tod und Mädchen is perhaps most disappointing in that Egon Schiele led a very interesting life, yet the scriptwriter Hilde Berger and director Dieter Berner have succeeded in making it appear rather dull, in the same way as Mike Leigh served up a snore-fest about J. M. W. Turner a couple of years ago. Perhaps the two most interesting aspects of Schiele’s life, his trial for pedophilia and his experiences in the First World War, are completely glossed over Read more …

Trump: Revolution or Simulacrum?
Part 1: The People’s Revolt

2,107 words

Translated by Guillaume Durocher

The election of Donald Trump to the presidency of the United States could be an American and global earthquake, something unprecedented. Or a huge flop and an enormous disappointment for the groups that elected him. An analysis in three parts, of which this is the first.

Puzder’s Unpatriotic Capitalism

Andrew Puzder indicates how much respect he has for American workers

2,560 words

One issue that seems to have escaped analysis in this election cycle is the fact that Trump received wide support from American conservatives despite taking a surprisingly “liberal” stance on a wide range of economic issues. While many of Trump’s economic policies come from the Republican playbook, here are a few of the stereotypically “liberal” economic policies Trump has claimed to support:  Read more …

The Metapolitics of Swift & Trump

2,247 words

Future historians will be endlessly fascinated by the intertwined media phenomena of Taylor Swift and Donald Trump during 2015-2016. Martin Zandvliet’s Land of Mine

2,114 words

Following the surrender of German forces at the end of World War Two nearly one million captured German soldiers had their status downgraded from Prisoners of War (POWs) to Disarmed Enemy Forces. The purpose was to provide the Allied force with a ready supply of slave labor by skirting around the Geneva Convention. In Denmark, under the direction of the British, two thousand soldiers were forced to clear mines along the west coast in violation of International laws prohibiting the use of captured soldiers for dangerous jobs. Any discussion of the plausibility of conspiracies has to start with MK Ultra—one of the most bizarre “conspiracy theories” that turned out, by all official accounts, to be completely and entirely true. MK Ultra was a CIA program that began in the early 1950s and operated at full scale from then until around 1964. The program was reduced in scope in 1964 and then again in 1967 and wasn’t officially put to an end until 1973 [1]—although 14-year CIA veteran Victor Marchetti claimed in 1977 that the CIA’s assurances that it had stopped the program were nothing more than a “cover story.”

Reframing White Nationalism

3,120 words

four-generationsWhat do we want? A white ethnostate. Much has been written about this elusive state, and I am sure there is much controversy and difference of opinion about it, so I won’t attempt to define it here. Suffice to say that the ethnostate will be a nation state founded by whites, for whites, and it will be free of the racial chaos and strife which has come to characterize multi-racial societies. White Nationalism may have many goals, but the ethnostate is the first and most important one, and to achieve it will be to win. So far so good.  Read more …

I tried to avoid the internet for most of Election Day. As my readers know, I expressed confidence that Trump would win.
